Driver of responsible transport of livestock or poultry
The certificate of professional competence for the transport of livestock and poultry focuses on the transport of large cattle (sheep, goats, cows, horses, pigs) and the transport of chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys or guinea fowl. The certificate is required for:
- drivers who transport large cattle or poultry;
- anyone who handles live animals in a professional capacity during transport.
The European certificate of professional competence for the transport of livestock and poultry (in accordance with Schedule IV from Regulation 1/2005) in the Netherlands is issued with a limited term of validity, namely five years. This deviates from the European guideline. It means that you can exchange your certificate in the Netherlands but it will have limited validity. After you have exchanged your certificate, you, as a driver (like any Dutch livestock and poultry driver) are obliged to renew your certificate after five years. This means you must complete a renewal course and exam.
