Door jouw status laat de Nederlandse wet niet toe om een rijbewijs aan te vragen. Omdat het wel mogelijk is om rijlessen te volgen en examens (theorie en praktijk) te doen, leidt dit tot een ongewenste situatie. Zo ben je onnodig veel tijd en geld kwijt voor rijlessen en examens, terwijl je eindigt zonder het gewenste rijbewijs.
Dus: ben je van plan om theorie- of rijlessen te nemen? Kijk dan goed na of je je rijbewijs in Nederland kunt halen. Op de website van de overheid lees je of je onder de Richtlijn tijdelijke bescherming valt.
Ben je als Oekraïner al in het bezit zijn van een geldig Oekraïens rijbewijs en val je onder de Richtlijn tijdelijke bescherming? Dan heb je geen Nederlands rijbewijs nodig.
No driving licence for Ukrainians covered by Temporary Protection Directive
Are you from the Ukraine and do you fall under the Temporary Protection Directive (TPD)? Then you will not get a driving licence from the municipality after a successful theory and practical driving test. Because of your status, Dutch law does not allow you to apply for a driving licence. However, it is possible to take driving lessons and tests (theory and practical), which can lead to the undesirable situation that you spend time and money on driving lessons and tests, without ending up with the desired driving licence.
So, are you planning to take theory or driving lessons? Then check carefully whether you can get your driving licence in the Netherlands. On the government’s website you can read whether you fall under the Temporary Protection Directive.
Are you a Ukrainian already in possession of a valid Ukrainian driving licence and do you fall under the Temporary Protection Directive? Then you do not need a Dutch driving licence.
